What the Press has to say
Mazda Australia recently hosted leading Australian automotive media to sample the new BT-50 2.2L, putting its fleet-focused appeal to the test.
Located at the rustic Eynesbury Estate in Victoria, media were invited to get behind the wheel of the BT-50 XS, which is now powered by a 2.2L turbo diesel - an all-new engine offering for the BT-50 ute lineup.

The drive simulated real-world working conditions, switching between urban and city driving, motorways as well as rural back roads.
Journalists in attendance highlighted the fleet applications of the BT-50 not only from a value offering, but also the ability to customise the vehicle based on a wide variety of business-specific needs.

Here’s a sample of what the Australian media had to say about the Mazda BT-50 2.2L XS:
“Finally, this is a ute that is leaning into utility. This is a hardworking vehicle” - Drive
“Targeting tradies and fleet customers has meant Mazda has embraced the concept of factory accessories” - Carsguide
“Given its fleet focus, it’s no surprise the XS does well for safety equipment” - Carsales
“There’s a charming simplicity to the gauges’ design, and when paired with the small screen, they fit the no-nonsense vibe of this base ute perfectly” - CarExpert
The Mazda BT-50 XS is available to order now at Mazda dealers nationwide in a variety of bodystyles – including Dual Cab Pickup and Dual Cab Chassis variants. A 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain is also available.
